A delicious and flavorful grilled tilapia stuffed with a mixture of tomatoes, onions, and ginger.

Ingredients

3 Servings
(1 serving = 1 tilapia)
  • 3piece
    tilapia, cleaned (scales and gut removed)
  • 4piece
    tomatoes, diced
  • 2piece
    onion, minced
  • 1piece
    thumb-sized ginger, thinly sliced and pressed
  • 1tsp
    sea salt
  • 1/2tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 8g
    seasoning granules (optional)
  • cooking oil

How to make Grilled Stuffed Tilapia

  1. Slice fish into half (from back to stomach) leaving the head and tail intact. Rub sea salt and ground black pepper all over the tilapia. Set aside.

  2. In a small bowl, combine onion, tomatoes, ginger, ground black pepper, remaining sea salt, and seasoning granules (optional). Mix well.

  3. Stuff the tilapia with the mixture. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before grilling.

  4. Heat grill pan or teppanyaki grill plate on medium fire.

  5. Brush or spray cooking oil on the grill plate. Then place the tilapia side by side on the grill. Cover the grill.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Serve with hot steamed rice and toyomansi sauce (calamansi juice with soy sauce)

  2. Covering the grill pan will keep the meat of the fish moist.
