Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the zucchini is well-drained to prevent soggy patties.

  2. Refrigerating the mixture helps the patties hold together better during cooking.

FAQS

  1. How do I store leftover zucchini burgers for later use?

To store leftover zucchini burgers, place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for longer storage; just make sure to separate each patty with parchment paper to prevent sticking. When ready to eat, thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat in the oven or on a skillet.

  2. What are some good substitutions for ingredients in zucchini burgers?

If you don't have Great Northern beans, you can substitute them with black beans or chickpeas. For a dairy-free option, replace feta cheese with nutritional yeast or a dairy-free cheese alternative. You can also swap out the almond meal for oat flour or breadcrumbs if you prefer.

  3. Can I make zucchini burgers gluten-free?

Yes, you can easily make zucchini burgers gluten-free by using gluten-free buns and ensuring that any substitutes, like almond meal or breadcrumbs, are certified gluten-free. This way, you can enjoy a delicious vegetarian meal without gluten.

  4. What can I serve with zucchini burgers for a complete meal?

Zucchini burgers pair well with a variety of sides. Consider serving them with a fresh salad, sweet potato fries, or grilled vegetables. You can also add a side of quinoa or a grain salad for a hearty meal.

  5. How long should I refrigerate the zucchini burger mixture before cooking?

It's best to refrigerate the zucchini burger mixture for at least 1 hour before cooking. This allows the flavors to meld together and helps the patties hold their shape better during baking.
