How to make Wors Stew

  1. Step 1

    Heat oil in a pot over medium heat and add the sausages.

  2. Step 2

    Brown them on both sides and set aside.

  3. Step 3

    Lower the flame and add chopped onion and garlic.

  4. Step 4

    Saute for about two minutes until the onions are translucent.

  5. Step 5

    When the onions are done, add dry thyme, oregano, mixed spices, paprika, curry powder, and bay leaves.

    Combine well and cook until spices are fragrant.

    Add in the grated tomatoes or a can of dried tomatoes.

    To balance the acidity of the tomatoes, add one tablespoon of brown sugar.

  9. Step 9

    Add Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce. Combine well and let it simmer for 5 minutes on medium-low heat.

  10. Step 10

    Add one beef stock cube and 1 1/2 cups of hot water, mix everything together.

  11. Step 11

    Return the browned sausages to the pot, cover, and cook on medium-low heat for 25 minutes.

  12. Step 12

    Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.

  13. Step 13

    Add coriander leaves and cook for another 2-3 minutes without covering.

  14. Step 14

    Serve it with pap and sautéed cabbage.
