A popular Indian street food featuring crispy samoosas topped with yogurt, chutneys, and spices.

Ingredients

4 Servings
(1 serving = 1 plate)

For Samoosas

  • 2cups
    all-purpose flour
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1/4tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4cup
    ghee or oil
  • 1/2cup
    lukewarm water

Filling

  • 1cup
    cooked and mashed potatoes
  • 1cup
    cooked and mashed peas
  • 1/2cup
    onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4cup
    cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4cup
    lemon juice
  • 1/2tsp
    garam masala
  • salt, to taste

Chaat Masala

  • 1cup
    yogurt
  • 1/2cup
    tamarind chutney
  • 1/4cup
    green chutney
  • 1/4cup
    chopped cilantro
  • 1/2tsp
    cumin powder
  • 1/2tsp
    chaat masala powder
  • salt, to taste

How to make Samoosa Chaat

Make the Samoosas

  1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder.

  2. Add ghee or oil and water to form a dough.

  3. Roll out the dough and cut into squares.

  4. Fill the squares with the potato-pea mixture.

  5. Fold and seal the samoosas.

  6. Fry the samoosas until golden brown.

Assemble the Chaat

  1. Place fried samoosas on a plate.

  2. Top with yogurt, tamarind chutney, green chutney, cilantro, cumin powder, chaat masala powder, and salt.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the dough is not too dry or too wet for easy rolling and sealing.

  2. Fry the samoosas on medium heat to ensure they are cooked through and crispy.

  3. Adjust the amount of chutneys and spices according to your taste preference.
