How to make Ground Turkey Shakshuka

Prepare the Turkey Mixture

  1. Dice the red onion and bell pepper.

  2. In a large skillet, spray cooking spray and heat over medium heat.

  3. Add the ground turkey and red onion to the pan. Season with salt, pepper, sage, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Cook until the turkey has browned.

Prepare the Tomato and Egg Mixture

  1. Add harissa, cumin, and tomatos and mix. Bring to a simmer and let cook until tomatos have broken down and the majority of liquid has evaporated.

  2. Make for little indents to place your eggs. Put a egg in each indent, I crack the eggs in a small bowl to make sure no shells are added to the skillet.

  3. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Turn heat to low. Cover and cook until eggs are done to your desired runniness, between 7-10 minutes.

Garnish and Serve

  1. Garnish with fresh cilantro, parsley, and crumbled feta cheese before serving.
