I would like to share with you one of my signature recipes which is a crowd-pleaser among my family and relatives: a quick and easy mashed potatoes with a twist.

How to make 10-minute Asian Style Mashed Potato

  1. Step 1

    Wash and rinse the potatoes then peel and chop into quarters. Peel the garlic cloves.

  2. Step 2

    Boil the potatoes in a pot of water (or stock) with a pinch of salt and half a chicken bouillon cube for about 10 minutes over medium-high heat or until tender. While the potatoes are boiling, prepare the mashed potato seasoning in a separate pan. Melt the butter and add the remaining half of the chicken bouillon cube, all-purpose cream, evaporated milk, and Thai fish sauce. Gently stir for about 5 minutes or until the sauce simmers.

    Step 1.1: Boil the potatoes in a pot of water (or stock) with a pinch of salt and half a chicken bouillon cube for about 10 minutes over medium-high heat or until tender
  3. Step 3

    After boiling the potatoes, drain the excess water and put it back into the pot. Mash the potatoes using a fork or a masher (potato ricer for a smoother and creamier texture).

  4. Step 4

    Gradually add the seasoning into the mashed potatoes. Mix well and adjust to taste then serve.
