    egg egg
  • 1/3cup
    sugar
  • 1cup
    cake flour
  • 1tsp
    baking powder
  • 1tsp
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4tsp
    salt
  • 5tsp
    apricot jam
  • 1cup
    buttermilk
  • 1tsp
    apple cider vinegar

Sauce

  • 100mL
    sugar
  • 150mL
    boiling water
  • 150mL
    milk
  • 50g
    butter
  • 1/2tsp
    vanilla essence

How to make Malva Pudding

Pudding

  1. In a large bowl, mix the egg and sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.

  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, and salt into the egg mixture and mix together.

  3. In a separate bowl, stir the apricot jam, buttermilk, and vinegar until the batter is smooth.

  4. Add the jam mixture to the flour mixture and combine well.

  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease your muffin pan or any dish you prefer.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 40 minutes.

Sauce

  1. Mix all sauce ingredients in a saucepan and let it boil until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. Pour the hot syrup over the hot Malva pudding as soon as it comes out of the oven.
