- 2cupsall-purpose flour
- 1tspbaking soda
- 1/2tspbaking powder
- 1/4tspsalt
- 1/2cupbutter, softened
- 3/4cupbrown sugar
- 2piecelarge eggs
- 1tspvanilla extract
- 1cupmashed bananas
- 1/2cupbuttermilk
- 1/2cupwalnuts, chopped
For the caramel
- 1cupsugar
- 1/2cupheavy cream
- 4tbspbutter
- 1/2tspvanilla extract
- 1pinchsalt
How to make Luscious Walnut Banana Caramel Cake
Cake preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch pans.
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, mashed bananas, and buttermilk. Stir in the dry ingredients and walnuts.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Caramel preparation
Heat the sugar in a pan until it turns amber.
Add the cream, butter, and salt. Stir until combined and let it cool.
Assembly
Assemble the cake and drizzle with caramel.
