Healthy Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients
For the Stir Fry Sauce
- 1/2cupwarm water
- 1tspcornstarch
- 1/4cupsoy sauce
- 2tspbrown sugar
For the Stir Fry
- 300gbeef strips
- 1tbspolive oil or vegetable oil
- 1head broccoli, cut into florets
- 1knob ginger, cut into matchsticks
- 3clovegarlic, thinly sliced
- 1green chili, sliced lengthwise (optional)
- sesame seeds (for garnish)
- chopped spring onions (for garnish, optional)
How to make Healthy Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Prepare the Stir Fry Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the warm water and cornstarch until the cornstarch dissolves.
Add the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until well combined. Set aside.
Cook the Beef
Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the beef strips and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and just cooked through.
Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté Aromatics and Broccoli
In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed.
Sauté the ginger, garlic, and green chili for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until they start to soften but remain bright green.
Combine Beef and Sauce
Return the beef to the skillet, then pour the stir fry sauce over the beef and broccoli.
Stir well to coat all ingredients evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
Serve the beef and broccoli stir fry hot, garnished with sesame seeds and spring onions, if desired.
Tips & Tricks
For extra flavor, marinate the beef strips in soy sauce and ginger before cooking.
Adjust the amount of chili to your preferred level of heat.
