Step 1.1: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until it softens.

Deglaze and Cook

  1. Pour in the white wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits for extra flavor. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 3-5 minutes.

  3. Add the chicken back into the skillet with the sauce. Simmer on low heat for another 10 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is creamy and thickened.

Step 2.2: Add the chicken back into the skillet with the sauce
  4. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Chinese 5-Spice and baobab powder add enough flavor depth, eliminating the need for extra salt.

  2. Baobab powder brings a subtle tang that balances the creaminess. For a more tangy twist, add a dash of lemon juice at the end.

  3. For an extra silky texture, blend the sauce ingredients (without the chicken) briefly in a blender before returning them to the pan.
