A fresh and zesty basil pesto made with sunflower seeds, perfect for those with nut allergies.

Pesto Ingredients
- 2cupsfresh basil leaves
- 1piecelemon, juiced
- 3clovegarlic
- 1/4cupsunflower seeds
- 1/2cupextra virgin olive oil
- 1pinchsalt
- 1piecechilli, optional
How to make Basil Pesto with Sunflower Seeds
Making the Pesto
Add fresh basil leaves, lemon juice, garlic cloves, sunflower seeds, and salt to a container suitable for an immersion blender.
Blend the ingredients until they form a smooth paste.
Slowly add the extra virgin olive oil while blending until the desired consistency is reached.
Add chillies if you desire an extra bite and blend until incorporated.
Tips & Tricks
Adjust the amount of garlic and salt according to your taste preference.
For a smoother pesto, add more olive oil.
Omit sunflower seeds if you have allergies.
