How to make Garlic Bread

Prepare the Dough

  1. Step 1

Add all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine using a wooden spoon.

  2. Step 2

Add the wet ingredients and mix together for 2-4 minutes to form a dough using a hand mixer.

  3. Step 3

If you don’t have a hand mixer, start by combining with a wooden spoon, then knead with your hands for 3-4 minutes until a smooth dough is formed.

  4. Step 4

Place the dough onto a clean surface, knead for a further 2 minutes, then place it into a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 45 minutes in a warm environment.

Prepare the Filling

  1. Step 1

While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by adding the chopped coriander into a small bowl or ramekin.

  2. Step 2

Add the melted butter and garlic, then combine to form a paste.

Assemble and Bake

  1. Step 1

When the dough has doubled in size, place it onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a flat 1cm thick circle.

  2. Step 2

Brush the garlic paste onto the rolled dough, then roll the dough into a log and cut it in half.

  3. Step 3

Fold the two halves into each other, pinch the ends to seal, and gently squeeze into a smaller size to fit into the loaf pan.

  4. Step 4

Grease a loaf pan with butter, add the dough, top with cheese, and add more garlic paste.

  5. Step 5

Place into a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 45 minutes.

  6. Step 6

After baking, allow it to cool down and serve.
