Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2cups
    Basmati Rice
  • 4cups
    Water
  • 1/2tbsp
    Ginger paste
  • 1/2tbsp
    Garlic paste
  • 1piece
    Large onion, sliced
  • 1piece
    Cardamom
  • 1in
    Cinnamon stick
  • 4clove
    Clove
  • 1piece
    Star Anise
  • 1/4tsp
    Sha jeera
  • 1/4tsp
    Turmeric
  • 2tbsp
    Sunflower oil
  • 1tbsp
    Ghee

Optional Ingredients

  • Nuts and raisins (as you prefer)

How to make Easy Biryani

Preparation

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a pan.

Cooking

  1. Heat a pressure cooker on medium flame. Add sunflower oil and fry the sliced onion, nuts, and raisins. Set aside.

  2. Pour the ghee into the remaining oil. Sauté cinnamon, clove, star anise, sha jeera, and cardamom.

  3. Add ginger and garlic paste. Then add strained rice and turmeric. Sauté for 5 minutes on medium flame.

  4. Add boiled water and stir. Cover the lid and wait for 1 whistle. Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release completely.

  5. Open the lid and transfer the rice into a bowl. Add the fried onion, nuts, and raisins on top of the rice.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the pressure is fully released before opening the cooker to avoid any accidents.

  2. Adjust the quantity of nuts and raisins according to your preference.
