Tips & Tricks

  1. For a richer flavor, add a dollop of butter or ghee while cooking the parathas.

  2. You can prepare the filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

  3. Adjust the amount of chilli flakes and green chillies according to your spice preference.

FAQS

  1. Can I use all-purpose flour instead of whole wheat flour?

Yes, you can substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour, but the parathas will be less nutritious. Whole wheat flour adds fibre and a nutty flavour to the dough.

  2. How can I prevent the filling from leaking out while cooking?

Ensure that the dough is properly sealed after stuffing. Also, roll the parathas gently and evenly to avoid tearing the dough.

  3. Can I freeze the cooked parathas?

Yes, you can freeze the cooked parathas. Allow them to cool completely, then wrap them individually in cling film and store them in a freezer bag. Reheat on a griddle or in a microwave before serving.

  4. What can I serve with these parathas?

These parathas are delicious with yogurt, chutney, pickles, or a side of raita. They also pair well with a cup of masala chai or coffee.

  5. Can I add other vegetables to the filling?

Absolutely! Feel free to add other vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, or spinach to the filling. Sauté the vegetables before adding them to the mixture to ensure they are cooked through.
