Ingredients
- 8ozspaghetti or your favorite pasta
- 4tbspunsalted butter
- 4clovegarlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
How to make Garlic Butter Pasta
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but do not let it brown.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter.
Toss to coat, adding some reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
Season
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Adjust to taste.
