A simple recipe for classic shortbread cookies using just three ingredients.

  • 500g
    butter
  • 1cup
    icing sugar
  • 1cup
    flour

How to make Shortbread Cookies

  1. Smooth the icing sugar in a clean bowl.

  2. Add the butter and whisk thoroughly until it becomes smooth.

  3. Add sieved plain flour to the mixture and mix together to form a dough.

  4. Cover the dough with transparent nylon and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  5. Bring the dough out and flatten it with a rolling pin.

  6. Place the dough on a baking tray and cut cookies into desired shapes and sizes.

  7. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 250°C.

  1. Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
