Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Fries recipe

Ingredients

4 Servings
(1 serving = 1 portion)
  • 2
    large potatoes
  • 1/2
    onion
  • 300g
    cheddar cheese
  • 6
    slices bacon
  • olive oil
  • Salt per taste

How to make Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Fries

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).

  2. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.

  3. In a pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, remove and let it cool on a paper towel. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  4. In a large skillet, heat a generous amount of olive oil. Add the potato strips and fry them until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

  5. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.

  6. In a baking dish, layer the fried potatoes, top with sautéed onions, crumbled bacon, and finally the cheddar cheese.

  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
