Almond Milk recipe

Ingredients

4 Servings
(1 serving = 1 cup)
  • 1cup
    raw almonds
  • 4cups
    filtered water
  • 2tbsp
    honey or agave syrup
  • 1tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1pinch
    salt

How to make Almond Milk

  1. Place the raw almonds in a bowl and fill it with water. Let them soak overnight or at least for 8-12 hours to soften.

  2. After soaking, drain and rinse the almonds under cool running water.

  3. Add the soaked almonds and 4 cups of filtered water to a blender. Blend on high speed for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture is creamy and milky.

  4. Position a cheesecloth or a nut milk bag over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the almond mixture through the cloth or bag to separate the liquid from the almond pulp. Squeeze or press down to extract as much milk as possible.

  5. Return the strained almond milk to the blender and add any desired sweeteners or flavorings. Blend briefly to incorporate.

  6. Transfer the almond milk to a sealed container and refrigerate. Shake well before serving as it may naturally separate. Enjoy it chilled.
