    Whole grain rice
  • 2tsp
    Yeasts
  • 1/2cup
    Sugar
  • 1tsp
    Salt
  • 1tsp
    Baking powder
  • 2

How to make African Masa

  1. Measure 3 cups of rice, soak over night or for 8 hours, add 1 onion and wash and cook the remaining 1 cup.

    Wash the overnight soaked rice into the blender, add the yeast, and the remaining onion, blend along side half of the boiled rice.

    Pour into a bowl, mix with the remaining boiled rice and let it set for 30 mins.

    Add sugar, baking powder, stir. Using a masa pan, pour in little oil and fry, turn with a skewer and remove once slightly brown.

    Serve with hot chilli pepper, grounded kulikuli powder or vegetable soup.
