Ingredients

  • 2tbsp
    oil in pot
  • 1tbsp
    fried onion
  • 1/2tsp
    turmeric/halad
  • 1/2tsp
    chilli powder/cayenne pepper
  • 1/2tsp
    whole cumin/jeera
  • 1tsp
    full heaped fine garlic
  • 2tbsp
    heaped of tomato puree or tomato paste
  • 2
    sticks of curry leaves (washed and leaves removed from stick ready to add)
  • 1/4tsp
    lemon juice (or optional tamarind/aamli/kokum)
  • sprigs
    of coriander

How to make Tangy Tomato Fish Curry

  1. Add 2 tbsp oil in pot with fried onion and the rest of the spices ie 1/2 tsp turmeric/halad, 1/2 tsp chilli powder/cayenne pepper,1/2 tsp whole cumin/jeera. Then add the 1 full heaped tsp fine garlic and the 2-3 heaped tbsp of tomato puree or tomato paste - Place fish in the pot with the aforementioned spices. Add ¼ tsp lemon juice (or optionally, tamarind/aamli/kokum) or add 2 sticks of curry leaves, (ie.wash and remove the leaves) - add in the curry leaves to the fish in the pot.Allow fish to cook till done, add few sprigs of coriander/dhania as garnish. Serve.
