Ingredients

For grinding

  • 250g
    bengal gram dal
  • 1
    green chilli
  • 1in
    ginger
  • Salt to taste

For garnishing

  • 1
    small.onion finely chopped
  • 1
    finely chopped green chilly
  • Few coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Few curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1
    teasppoon sombu
  • 1tsp
    chilly powder
  • Salt to taste

For frying

  • 500g
    peanut or sunflower oil

How to make Amma Vadai

Grinding

  1. Soak the bengal gram dal for 1 hr

  2. Keep aside some soaked bengal gram Rest of the gram strain the water. Grundy into a coatse paste.

  3. Add the garnishing to the coarse paste and add the few soaked bengal gram

  4. Mix all the ingredients well and add salt.

  5. Make into small flattened balls

  6. Add to the oil and fry well

  7. Remove from the frying pan and serve with rice or with sauce as evening snack
