Masala peanuts are an easy and tasty snack, perfect to serve with a cup of hot tea or coffee. This protein-rich snack is made without any artificial colors and can be prepared within minutes. Peanuts are coated with chickpea flour, rice flour, and spices, making them crunchy and delicious.
Ingredients
- 1/2kgraw peanuts
- 5tbspchickpea flour
- 1tbsprice flour
- 1 1/2tspchilly powder
- 1tspKashmiri chilly powder
- 1/4tspasafoetida powder
- 1 1/2tspfennel seeds
- 10clovegarlic
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
- 4sprigcurry leaves
How to make Masala Peanuts
Wash the peanuts and strain them.
In a bowl, add chickpea flour, rice flour, chilly powder, Kashmiri chilly powder, crushed fennel seeds, crushed garlic, and salt. Make a thick paste.
Add the washed peanuts to the paste and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the peanuts and stir continuously for 1 minute.
When the peanuts start to crack slightly, remove them from the oil.
Turn off the heat and add curry leaves to the oil. Remove them and add to the fried peanuts. Mix well.
Once completely cooled, store the peanuts in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Tips & Tricks
Ensure the oil is at the right temperature before adding the peanuts to avoid them becoming soggy.
Crush the garlic and fennel seeds for better flavor infusion.
