  • 250g
    jackfruit seeds
  • 1tsp
    chilly powder
  • 1tsp
    pepper powder
  • 2tsp
    coriander powder
  • 1/4tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 10clove
    shallots
  • 1/2tsp
    mustard seeds
  • 1/4tsp
    fenugreek seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 5tbsp
    grated coconut
  • 1sprig
    curry leaves
  • 2tbsp
    coconut oil

How to make Jackfruit Seed Masala / Chakkakuru Masala

  1. Clean the jackfruit seeds by peeling the outer cover and the brown part using a knife, then cut into pieces.

  2. Heat a pressure cooker and add coconut oil.

  3. Add mustard seeds, and when they pop, add fenugreek seeds.

  4. Add shallot pieces and sauté until they become transparent.

  5. Add curry leaves and jackfruit seed pieces.

  6. Add enough water to fully cover the jackfruit seeds, along with chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, and salt.

  7. Close the cooker and cook until 2 whistles.

  8. Once the pressure is completely gone, open the lid.

  9. Add grated coconut and 1 tsp fresh coconut oil.

  10. Serve the Chakkakuru masala.
