A versatile and easy-to-make strawberry sauce made from fresh frozen strawberries, perfect as a cake filling, spread for bread, or for making strawberry desserts.

(1 serving = 2 tablespoons )
  • 1cup
    strawberries
  • 1/3cup
    sugar
  • 1tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1tsp
    lemon zest
  • 1tsp
    corn flour/corn starch
  • 2tsp
    water

How to make Strawberry Sauce

  1. In a nonstick saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture starts to simmer.

  3. In a small bowl, mix corn flour/corn starch with water to create a slurry.

  4. Add the slurry to the saucepan and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.

  5. Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to an airtight jar for storage.
