How to make Kerala Style Fish Curry
Preparation
Soak the kukum star in hot water and set aside.
Clean and cut the fish into pieces.
Cooking
Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter.
Add fenugreek seeds, ginger, garlic, and shallots. Sauté until the shallots turn golden brown.
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, and Kashmiri chilli powder. Mix well.
Pour in the soaked kukum star along with the water and bring to a boil.
Add the fish pieces and salt. Cook until the fish is done.
Add curry leaves and simmer for a few more minutes.
Tips & Tricks
For a richer flavor, use fresh coconut oil.
Adjust the amount of chilli powder to suit your spice preference.
