Moong daal khichdi healthy way

It is made with just 1 tsp ghee and is super nutritious for your gut

Ingredients

2 Servings
(1 serving = 1 bowl )

For base

  • 3/4cup
    moong daal
  • 1/4cup
    rice
  • 1tsp
    ghee
  • 1tsp
    jeera
  • 1tsp
    turmeric powder
  • salt as per taste
  • Black pepper powder as per taste
  • 1
    onion
  • 1
    tomato
  • 1tbsp
    coriander leaves
  • 5cup
    water

Method

For preparation

  1. Take a pressure cooker and add ghee followed by jeera

  2. Add turmeric powder

  3. Add onion and tomato and sauté it till it changes colour

  4. Add little water and let it get soft and mushy

  5. Add salt and pepper powder

  6. Add soaked daal rice mixture ( soaked for 30 minutes)

  7. Add 5 cups of water and give a good mix

  8. Now give 5 whistles on medium flame

  9. Once steam is naturally out open the cooker and add garam masala

  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot

Tips & Tricks

  1. Add desi ghee on the top for extra flavours
