A delicious and crunchy egg roll recipe using a double leavening method for extra softness and crunch.

Ingredients

10 Servings
(1 serving = 1 egg roll)
  • 4cups
    flour
  • 10piece
    eggs (boiled)
  • 1/4cup
    sugar
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1tsp
    milk flavor
  • 1/4tsp
    baking powder
  • 5tbsp
    butter
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1tsp
    yeast
  • 1tbsp
    powdered milk

How to make Egg Roll (Double Leavening Method)

  1. Boil eggs hard and remove shells. Keep aside for later use.

  2. Pour yeast in warm water along with some sugar and keep aside to activate yeast for 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can add the yeast directly into the dry ingredient mixture if you are sure the yeast is active.

  3. In another bowl, mix all dry ingredients together with the butter.

  4. Create a well in the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture. Add lukewarm water as needed and mix thoroughly to form a fine dough.

  5. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes.

  6. Use your hands to coat the boiled eggs with the dough mixture.

  7. Fry until golden brown.

  8. Drain out the oil and serve.

Tips & Tricks

  1. The yeast is needed to make the egg rolls soft and crunchy.

  2. If you're making these for commercial purposes, this recipe is ideal.
