Carving the basket
- Step 1
Mark the outline using a skewer or marker to draw the outline of the handle across the top of the watermelon. Draw a horizontal line around the middle to mark the edge of the basket.

Carefully cut away the side panels, leaving the handle intact.
- Step 3
Use a melon baller or spoon to remove the fruit inside. Keep the balls or cubes for the filling.

Scrape the insides gently to smoothen and dry it using a paper towel if needed.
