For the Dough

  • 3cups
    flour
  • 3tbsp
    oil
  • 1pinch
    salt
  • 3/4cup
    water

For the Filling

  • Veg oil
  • 1
    medium size onion
  • Garlic

    small scotch bonnet
  • 1tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1cup
    fresh tomatoes

How to make Rolex (Ugandan Chapati Wrap)

Making the Dough

  1. Mix flour, salt, oil, and water to form a dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

Preparing the Filling

  1. Cook beef and set aside. In a pan, add oil, then add onions, garlic, and scotch bonnet.

  2. Add tomato paste and fresh tomatoes and mix well. Add seasoning cube and curry powder, and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the cooked beef and stir. Cook for another 5 minutes, then turn off the heat.

Assembling the Rolex

  1. Get your dough and cut it into portions. Roll out each portion until flat and place it in a non-stick pan to heat up.

  2. Break the eggs and whisk them. Add a little salt and fry. Once you flip the egg to the other side, put the chapati on top and remove it from the pan. Place it on a plate.

  3. Place the filling on the chapati and roll it up.
