How to make Beef and vegetable sauce

Preparation

  1. Wash the meat to remove blood and cut against the grain into 2-inch diagonal strips.

  2. Marinate the meat with the Knorr Cube, Beef seasoning, Garlic Powder, and Corn Starch. Leave to marinate for at least an hour or overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. Mix the Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Cooking wine, Sesame oil, Black pepper, and Sugar. Set aside.

  2. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute without burning the garlic.

  3. Add the marinated beef into the pan, stir and fry until cooked, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Remove the beef from the pan, discard the oil, and add another 2 tablespoons of oil. When hot, add the onions and sauté for 2 minutes.

  5. Add the sliced peppers and sauté for another 2 minutes. Then, add the mushrooms and sauté for a minute.

  6. Add the mixed sauce and let it simmer for 1 minute.

  7. Turn the heat to low, add the fried beef back into the pan, stir to combine, and simmer for 2 minutes.

  8. Serve with boiled or fried rice or noodles.

To achieve maximum flavor in your beef and vegetable sauce, marinate the beef with a Knorr Chicken Cube, beef seasoning, garlic powder, and corn starch for at least an hour, or ideally overnight. This allows the flavors to penetrate the meat, making it tender and delicious.

  2. Can I make a gluten-free version of this beef and vegetable sauce?

Yes, you can easily make this beef and vegetable sauce gluten-free by substituting soy sauce with tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce alternative. Additionally, ensure that the oyster sauce you use is gluten-free, as some brands may contain wheat.

  3. What vegetables can I substitute in the beef and vegetable sauce recipe?

You can customize the beef and vegetable sauce by substituting the vegetables based on your preference or what you have on hand. Good alternatives include broccoli, snap peas, carrots, or zucchini. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time based on the vegetables you choose.

  4. How should I store leftover beef and vegetable sauce?

  5. What are some good side dishes to serve with beef and vegetable sauce?

Beef and vegetable sauce pairs wonderfully with boiled or fried rice, but you can also serve it with noodles for a hearty meal. For a balanced dinner, consider adding a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad to complement the rich flavors of the dish.
