Sweet & Savoury Party Nuts

These sweet and savoury roasted party nuts are the perfect holiday appetizer for a crowd, or just when you want to treat yourself. It's a healthy snack that's light on calories but packed with flavour. These nuts have been lightly sweetened with a hint of spice and can be customized to suit your tastes. We recommend using whatever nuts you enjoy most—try cashews instead of almonds and make this recipe your own!

Ingredients

  • 1tbsp
    Oil
  • 200g
    Raw Peanuts
  • 200g
    Almonds
  • 200g
    Walnuts
  • 1tbsp
    Turmeric Powder
  • 2tbsp
    Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 1tbsp
    Garam Masala
  • 1tbsp
    Jaggery (chopped)
  • 1tbsp
    Salt
  • 20
    Curry Leaves
  • 1tbsp
    Chaat Masala

Method

  1. Mix turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala, jaggery, salt, and curry leaves in a large mixing bowl. Keep aside for later use.

  2. Place a heavy bottomed skillet or wok on medium heat and add oil.

  3. Add the peanuts and roast them for 2 minutes. Then add almonds and walnuts. Constantly stir for 5 minutes on medium heat.

  4. Add the prepared spice and jaggery mix to the skillet.

  5. Stir constantly to ensure the jaggery is well coated on the nuts.

  6. Once done, transfer to a plate or a large bowl. Sprinkle chaat masala and mix gently.

  7. Let the nuts cool completely and serve.

Tips & Tricks

  1. You can add or substitute nuts as per your choosing. Cashews, raisins and macadamia are good alternatives.

  2. Nuts can be roasted in an oven as well. Mix the nuts in the spice mix made in Step 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius and roast the nuts for 5-8 minutes or till they are golden in colour. Check constantly to avoid burnt nuts.

  3. You can use granulated white sugar, raw sugar, honey, or maple syrup to glaze the nuts instead of jaggery.
