Crispy fried spicy corn kernels are a delicious and flavorful snack or side dish that combines the crunchy texture of fried corn with the savoury and spicy flavours of your favourite sauces.

Ingredients

How to make Spicy Fried Corns

  1. In a large bowl, mix together corn kernels, all-purpose flour (maida), cornflour, white pepper, chilli flakes, black pepper powder, oregano, salt, and ginger garlic paste, and mix nicely.

  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.

For Tempering

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add 1 tbsp oil.

  2. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped garlic to the pan.

  3. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute, or until it becomes fragrant and starts to turn a light golden color.

  5. Sauté the vegetables for a few minutes, or until they are slightly tender.

  6. Add soy sauce to the pan and stir to coat the vegetables.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Do not burn garlic while tempering, as it becomes bitter.

  2. Use fresh corn kernels as they will give you a nice flavour and texture.

  3. Frozen kernels should be thawed before use.

  4. Use hot oil to cook the corn kernels. This will prevent them to cook quickly and evenly and will prevent them from becoming soggy.

  5. It is always better to fry the corn kernels in batches.

  6. To make the corn saucy, you can toss it with the sauce of your choice after frying.

  7. You can also adjust the spices used in the recipe based on your personal preference.
