Gulab Jamun Paratha is a tasty dish that turns leftover festive sweets into something new.

It is a mouth-watering recipe that combines two of the most loved dishes - Gulab Jamun and Paratha.

You can have it as a dessert or a sweet and savoury breakfast.

It’s a fun and delicious way to use up extra sweets from celebrations, and it's sure to impress anyone who tries it.

Ingredients

4 Servings

For Dough

  • 2cup
    Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1tbsp
    Oil
  • Water as required

For Filling

  • 4
    Gulab Jamuns
  • 2tbsp
    chopped Nuts (Pistachios/Cashews/Almonds)
  • 1/4tsp
    Cardamom Powder
  • 1pinch
    Cinnamon powder
  • 1pinch
    Salt
  • Ghee for brushing on parathas

Method

For Dough

  1. Mix whole wheat flour in a bowl, gradually adding water until, firm dough forms.

  2. Apply oil to the dough, cover it, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

For Filling

  1. Crush gulab jamuns in a large bowl.

  2. Add chopped nuts, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and salt. Mix well and set aside.

  3. Divide the dough into balls, and roll each into a small disc.

  4. Brush ghee on the rolled dough, place stuffing in the centre, fold the edges to cover, and gently roll into a circular shape.

  5. Heat a non-stick griddle over medium-high heat.

  6. Cook the stuffed paratha for 1-2 minutes on each side.

  7. Apply ghee on each side and cook until golden brown and crisp. Repeat for remaining dough balls.

  8. Cut Gulab Jamun Parathas into quarters, garnish with chopped nuts and enjoy hot!

Tips & Tricks

  1. The recipe yields approximately 4 parathas, but this may vary depending on the size of each paratha.

  2. You can substitute oil for ghee in this recipe.
