Chickpeas and jaggery bites are a delicious snack that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Chickpeas are a great source of protein, fibre, and essential vitamins and minerals. Jaggery, a traditional sweetener made from sugarcane juice, is rich in antioxidants and minerals like iron and potassium.

These treats are perfect for indulging your sweet tooth and offer a tasty alternative to conventional sweets. They are loved by people of all ages, making them a versatile choice for celebrations, festivals, or any gathering. Enjoy!

Ingredients

20 Servings
  • 1 1/2cup
    Roasted Chickpeas (plain)
  • 1cup
    Jaggery Powder
  • 1tsp
    Cardamom Powder
  • 1/8tsp
    Cinnamon Powder
  • 3/4cup
    Desiccated Coconut
  • 1/2cup
    Almonds (ground)
  • 3/4cup
    Milk (as required)

Method

  1. Blend the roasted chickpeas in a food processor until they achieve a fine, powdery texture.

  2. Add jaggery powder, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, and desiccated coconut into the food processor and blend until they form a fine mixture.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl.

  4. Add ground almonds into the bowl and mix.

  5. Gradually pour milk into the blended mixture. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little more milk as needed.

  6. Apply a light coat of oil to your hands and shape small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls.

  7. Roll each ball in ground almonds to coat them.

  8. Place the coated balls in the refrigerator to chill and firm up.

  9. Once they have firmed up, the Chickpeas and Jaggery Bites are ready to be enjoyed as a sweet and nutritious treat!

Tips & Tricks

  1. Adjust jaggery according to your taste preference.

  2. Feel free to add your preferred nuts to the mixture.

  3. Add the milk gradually to the mixture to prevent it from becoming overly moist.

  4. You can store these bites in the refrigerator for up to a week.

  5. This recipe yields approximately 20 rolls. The number may vary based on the size of the rolls you create.
