How to make Healthier Version of Samosa

For Dough

  1. Step 1

    In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, rava, ajwain, salt, and ghee. Mix well.

  2. Step 2

    Gradually add water and knead into a soft, pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.

For Stuffing

  1. Step 1

    Heat 1 tsp ghee in a kadai.

  2. Step 2

    Add ginger-garlic-chilli paste and masala powder, sauté for a few seconds.

  3. Step 3

    Add mashed potatoes, green peas, coriander-cumin powder, and salt.

  4. Step 4

    Mix everything well and cook for 2–3 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Add fresh coriander leaves and let the mixture cool.

For Round Balls

  1. Step 1

    Take small portions of the dough and roll into small balls (vati).

  2. Step 2

    Flatten slightly, place stuffing in the center, seal and roll gently into round balls.

For Cooking

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the appe pan on medium flame.

  2. Step 2

    Brush each cavity with a little desi ghee.

  3. Step 3

    Place the samosa balls in the pan.

  4. Step 4

    Cook on low to medium flame, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden and crispy.
