Ingredients

15 Servings
(1 serving = 1 ball)
  • 1cup
    pitted dates
  • 1/2cup
    creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4cup
    honey
  • 1/4cup
    rolled oats
  • 1/4cup
chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1/4cup
    chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds)
  • 1/4tsp
    salt
  • 1tbsp
    chia seeds (optional)

How to make Date Snack Balls

  1. In a food processor or blender, combine the dates, peanut butter, and honey. Process until smooth and creamy.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, chocolate, nuts, and salt. Stir until well combined.

  3. Add the date mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.

  4. Use your hands to shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should end up with around 12-15 balls.

  5. Place the chia seeds (if using) in a small bowl. Roll each ball into the chia seeds to coat, pressing the seeds onto the balls to help them stick.

  6. Place the Date Snack Balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.

  7. Store the snack balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Enjoy as a healthy and delicious snack!

Tips & Tricks

  1. Use a cookie scoop or small ice cream scoop to portion out the dough and shape the balls.

  2. Roll the balls between your hands to create a smooth and even surface.

  3. If using chia seeds, press them onto the balls gently but firmly to ensure they stick.

  4. Experiment with different mix-ins like coconut flakes, cinnamon, or cocoa powder to create unique flavor combinations.
