  • 2tbsp
    Cow Ghee unmelted
  • 1tbsp
    Dry ginger powder (saunth)
  • 1tbsp
    Ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1tbsp
    Saunf (fennel seeds)
  • 4in
    Dry coconut (khopra), cut into thin strips
  • 1tsp
    Black pepper powder
  • 1/2cup
    Almonds, chopped
  • 1/2cup
    Roasted peanuts
  • 1tbsp
    White or brown sesame seeds
  • 2cup
    Gur (jaggery), crushed
  • 1tbsp
    Ghee for greasing

How to make Masala Gur

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add dry ginger powder, ajwain, and fennel seeds. Keep the flame low.

  2. Add coconut and almonds. Roast for a minute.

  3. Add black pepper powder and sesame seeds. Roast for another minute.

  4. Add roasted peanuts and roast for a minute.

  5. Add crushed jaggery. Keep the flame low to medium and cook until the jaggery melts and mixes well.

  6. Remove from flame. Grease a plate with ghee and spread the mixture evenly.

  7. Level and pat it evenly. Cut into slices while still hot.

  8. Let it set for about half an hour before serving.
