Next, pour in 1.5 cups of milk and continue stirring for another 2-3 minutes. Then, add 0.75 cup of sugar and keep stirring until the mixture thickens, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Once thickened, remove from heat, mix in 1 tsp of cardamom powder, and let it cool to room temperature. Finally, shape the mixture into small balls and roll them in the remaining 1/2 cup of desiccated coconut.

  2. Is Coconut Laddu suitable for vegan diets?

Traditional Coconut Laddu is not vegan due to the use of milk and ghee. However, you can easily make a vegan version by substituting dairy milk with coconut milk or almond milk and using coconut oil instead of ghee. This way, you can enjoy a delicious and dairy-free Coconut Laddu!

  3. What can I use as a substitute for sugar in Coconut Laddu?

If you're looking to reduce sugar in your Coconut Laddu, you can substitute regular sugar with natural sweeteners like maple syrup, agave nectar, or coconut sugar. Keep in mind that the texture may vary slightly, so adjust the quantity based on your sweetness preference.

  4. How should I store Coconut Laddu for freshness?

To keep your Coconut Laddu fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you want to keep them longer, you can refrigerate them, where they will last for about 2-3 weeks. Just make sure to bring them to room temperature before serving for the best taste.

  5. What are some good pairings for Coconut Laddu?

Coconut Laddu pairs wonderfully with a cup of chai or coffee, making it a perfect snack or dessert. You can also serve it alongside other Indian sweets like Gulab Jamun or Barfi for a delightful dessert platter during festivals or celebrations.
