Paraguayan Recipes

Paraguayan cuisine is one of South America's most distinctive, centered on corn and cassava rather than wheat or potatoes. Sopa paraguaya (a savory cornbread that is paradoxically not a soup), chipa (cheese-flavored cassava bread), and mbejú (cassava starch griddle cake) are foundational dishes. Guaraní Indigenous traditions remain strong, with tereré (cold yerba mate) consumed daily as a social ritual. Asado is beloved, and bori bori (corn dumpling soup) warms cold winter nights.
