Māori Recipes
Māori cuisine represents the Indigenous food traditions of Aotearoa (New Zealand), centered on the hangi—an earth oven where meats and vegetables are slow-cooked over hot stones in a buried pit. Kumara (sweet potato), rewena paraoa (Māori sourdough bread), and kaimoana (seafood) including pāua (abalone), kina (sea urchin), and whitebait are treasured foods.
