Arab Mexican

Arab Mexican Recipes

Arab Mexican cuisine arose from Lebanese, Syrian, and Iraqi immigrants who settled in Mexico during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The most famous result is tacos árabes and tacos al pastor, where spit-roasted meat techniques from shawarma merged with Mexican flavors and tortillas. Kibbeh, jocoque (a yogurt-like condiment), and pan árabe are staples of this fusion. Cities like Puebla and Mérida are major centers of Arab-Mexican culinary culture.
