Ingredients

  • 1cup
    basmati rice
  • 1
    onion, sliced
  • 1/2cup
    masoor dhal or green gram dhal
  • 1tsp
    pepper corns, coarsely powdered
  • 2tbsp
    ghee
  • 2cups
    hot water
  • salt to taste

How to make Kichdi/Lentil Rice

  1. Wash and drain the basmati rice and lentils.

  2. Slice the onion.

  3. Place all ingredients in a rice cooker.

  4. Cook until the rice and lentils are done.
