How to make Glazed Cherries
- Step 1
Place the cherries, with stems removed and thoroughly washed, into a saucepan. Add the sugar over the cherries.
- Step 2
Pour the cherry brandy mixed with the vinegar over the cherries and sugar. Let the mixture macerate for two hours, stirring occasionally.
- Step 3
After two hours of maceration, place the saucepan on the stove and cook until the cherries begin to soften, about three minutes after the mixture starts boiling.
- Step 4
Remove the cherries and strain them through a colander. Return only the resulting liquid to the saucepan and cook over low heat to allow it to evaporate and concentrate.
- Step 5
Once the liquid has thickened into a jelly-like consistency, add the cherries back to the saucepan and stir to glaze them.
- Step 6
Remove the cherries and transfer them to a jar along with the remaining jelly.
- Step 7
To serve the cherries, take them out of the jar and heat them in a skillet with a teaspoon of butter to restore their original texture and serve them warm.
