How to make Fried Rice

Prepare the Rice

  1. Ensure the rice is cooked and completely cooled to prevent clumping during frying. Leftover rice works best.

Cook the Eggs

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

  2. Add the beaten eggs and scramble until cooked through.

  3. Remove the eggs from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables

  1. Add another tbsp of oil to the skillet.

  2. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant and slightly translucent.

  3. Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook until tender.

Add the Rice and Seasonings

  1. Increase the heat to high and add the cooled rice to the skillet.

  2. Stir-fry the rice with the vegetables for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Add the soy sauce, ground black pepper, and salt, stirring well to evenly coat the rice.

Incorporate the Eggs and Butter

  1. Add the scrambled eggs back into the skillet.

  2. Stir in the butter, letting it melt and coat the rice for a rich, buttery flavor.

Optional Add-Ins

  1. If using chicken, shrimp, or steak, add it now and stir-fry until heated through.

  2. Sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.

Finish and Garnish

  1. Remove the fried rice from the heat.

  2. Garnish with sliced green onions for a fresh, vibrant touch.

Serve

  1. Serve hot as a side dish or enjoy it as a complete meal!

Tips & Tricks

  1. Use day-old rice for the best texture.

  2. Adjust soy sauce and salt to taste.
