Beef Steak

Ingredients
- 500gbeef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1tbspbaking soda
- 4tbspsoy sauce
- 4piececalamansi
- 1tspground black pepper
- 3clovegarlic, minced
- 3pieceonion, sliced into rings
- 4tbspcooking oil
- 250gwater
- 1pinchsalt or patis
How to make Beef Steak
Marinating the Beef
Marinate beef in soy sauce, calamansi, baking soda, and ground black pepper for at least 1 hour. For best results, marinate overnight.
Cooking the Beef
Drain the marinade from the beef and set it aside.
Pan-fry the beef for 1 minute per side. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Sauté garlic and onions until the onion softens.
Pour the remaining marinade and water into the pan. Bring to a boil.
Add the beef. Cover the pan and simmer until the meat is tender. Add water as needed.
Season with ground black pepper and salt as needed. Top with pan-fried onions.
Tips & Tricks
For best results, marinate the beef overnight.
Add water as needed to keep the beef tender and prevent it from drying out.
