Vanilla essence
- 5cupsflour
- 5tspbaking powder
- 250gmargarine
- 3/4cupsugar
- 2pieceeggs
- 1 1/2cupmilk
- 2tbspcustard powder
- 1tbspvinegar
How to make Custard Powder Scones
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Add vinegar to half a cup of milk and set aside.
Sieve all dry ingredients together.
Rub in cold grated or small cubed margarine into the dry ingredients until it resembles a sand-like texture.
Add one cup of milk and eggs, mix and pour into dry ingredients.
Mix and add the remaining milk mixture to form a dough.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut to desired size.
Place on greased pans.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Let them cool and enjoy.
Tips & Tricks
Ensure the margarine is cold for a better texture.
Do not overmix the dough to keep the biscuits tender.
