Originally from Gujarat, India, and now living in Pennsylvania, Purvee is a renowned food content creator who shares her recipes through her Instagram handle, Purvee's Tasty Kitchen. With over 90.2k followers and more than 300 recipes, Purvee’s page caters to modern-day cooking needs while still staying true to her Gujarati roots. Her journey is one of dreams persisting as reality obliges.
Purvee’s kitchen visits started early in life. She started out by helping her mother prepare meals. By the time Purvee reached eighth grade, she was kneading dough and cooking rotis. Purvee’s mother and maternal grandma were amazing cooks. Watching them inspired little Purvee to learn cooking.
In 2011, Purvee graduated and was expecting her first child. She shared how she went onto become a stay at home mother right after graduation. This led to her spending a lot of time in the kitchen.Cooking very quickly became her second love, the first being travelling. She started learning to cook new dishes and experimenting with the traditional recipes to see if she could somehow one up it.
Despite being an avid home cook, Purvee had not started out as a food content creator. She started posting when COVID arrived. If the general low feeling of those horrid times was not enough to stress Purvee out, then her postpartum depression was completely putting her off foot.
She decided to distract herself by letting other things occupy her mind, like photography and editing. She started recording with her iPhone and soon realised the need for and value of editing and started learning about it.
Unlike most creators, Purvee did not start her journey from Instagram, rather she chose to begin with Youtube. However, once she discovered Instagram, she found it easier and shifted there completely. Eventually, sponsorship opportunities started rolling in.
Purvee recalls the time she was invited by an agency called CUUP of T! This agency was in charge of selecting contestants for the popular show MasterChef. As she was preparing for her video submission, her little one dropped her camera by mistake. She somehow managed to shoot that video with her iPhone. She was selected for the first round through her introduction video and her instagram feed. Upon selection, she was asked to join them in Mumbai for auditions, however, Purvee could not go.
Her son at the time was too young and leaving him behind in someone else's care did not sound like a good idea to Purvee back then. However, when she looks back at that time, she does regret not being able to make it.

“Master Chef was my dream!”
Purvee expresses how she often regrets that decision of hers, saying with a little effort and courage, the situation could have been handled and she would have been able to gain an experience of a lifetime.
Then eventually, she got a Gujarati show which did really well in the USA. Looking back, she states she is trying having no regrets and she believes everything happens for a reason and she is grateful for the way things turned out.
Purvee’s biggest inspirations are her children and the community she comes from.
"I would say that consistency is the key. So no matter what, if you don't see any progress or if you don't feel like you're reaching any audience, just believe in yourself. And of course, do not compromise on the quality. One quality post a week is better than 7 generic ones."
Purvee further suggested focusing on the quality of the visuals, such as the photographs and the videography. She explained how thumbnails are the most important aspect when it comes to aligning with the algorithm, whether it's youtube shorts or any other social media. It is the thumbnail that will help the audience decide if they want to watch the video or not.

“I just want to help my community and people that don't know how to cook. I want to bring more meal prep videos for busy moms. This is because they don't have time, and they want to create easy meals that are not one-pot recipes but something a little more delicious and wholesome than that.”
There are two things that Purvee is looking forward to focusing on. The first, she wants to introduce herself to a new style of recording and build her own studio. She wants to learn professional videography and create the perfect setup for her videos, so that her videos look more visually appealing.
The second goal, the big goal that she is focusing on is, trying not to repeat the same recipes from previous year. She aspires to share around 150 to 170 new recipes in the coming 365 days. Unsure of how she will pull this off, she is determined to do it anyway.
Purvee Panchal's persistent efforts towards her passion is an inspiring feat. Her love towards her heritage is evident through her Instagram page. She has helped thousands of people with her recipes and we can’t wait to see her upgrade her video’s visual game and continue to make big changes with small steps.
