A moist and delicious banana bread made with ripe bananas and optional nuts or chocolate chips.

  • 8tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 1cup
    granulated sugar
  • 2piece
    large eggs
  • 1/4cup
  • 1tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3piece
    medium bananas, very ripe
  • 2cup
    all-purpose flour
  • 1tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2cup
    chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

How to make Banana Bread

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x5-inch loaf pan.

  2. Melt the butter and mix with sugar in a large bowl.

  3. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla, whisking until smooth.

  4. Mash in the ripe bananas, leaving them as chunky or smooth as desired.

  5. Add flour, baking soda, and salt, stirring until barely combined.

  6. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

  7. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 50-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool for another 10 minutes before slicing.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and texture.

  2. You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
