This beautiful and vibrant tea, made from butterfly pea flowers, is not only visually stunning but also refreshing. It can be enjoyed hot or cold, with a hint of lemon and sweetener to taste.

Ingredients

1 Servings
(1 serving = 1 cup)
  • 1cup
    water
  • 5piece
    dried or fresh butterfly pea flowers
  • sugar or honey to taste
  • 1pinch
    salt
  • 1tsp
    lemon juice

How to make Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a pot on the stove.

  2. Add 5-7 butterfly pea flowers to the boiling water.

  3. Boil the flowers for 2-3 minutes until the water turns blue.

  4. Turn off the stove and strain the tea into a cup.

  5. Mix in sugar or honey to taste, and a pinch of salt if desired.

  6. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, which will change the tea’s color to purple.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks

  1. This tea can also be enjoyed cold. Simply let it cool and add ice cubes.

  2. Garnish with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint for added flavor and presentation.

  3. For a stronger flavor, use more flowers or steep for a longer time.

  4. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to change the intensity of the color.
