Spices

    cumin
  • 1tsp
    fennel seeds
  • 1
    cinnamon stick

    green cardamom

    nutmeg
  • 1pinch
    mace
  • 1tsp
    black pepper
  • 1tsp
    red chili powder

Kofta Mixture

  • 2
    raw bananas, boiled and peeled
  • 1cup
    chana dal, cooked
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1tbsp
    ginger, grated
  • 1tbsp
    garlic, minced
  • 2tbsp
    coriander, chopped

For frying

  • Oil

How to make Easy Breezy Raw Banana Kofta

Prepare the Spice Mix

  1. Dry roast cumin, fennel seeds, cinnamon, green and black cardamom, nutmeg, mace, and black peppercorns until fragrant.

  2. Add chana dal, chopped onion, ginger, garlic, and coriander and cook until the onion turns golden.

  3. Once cooled, grind this mixture into a fine powder.

Make the Kofta Mixture

  1. Mash the boiled raw bananas in a bowl.

  2. Add the spice mix to the bananas and mash them all together.

Shape and Fry the Koftas

  1. Shape the mixture into small round balls.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the koftas until golden brown.

  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
